Chapter Four: Marketing with Facebook
Honestly, I never really use Facebook. The way the app works has always kind of confused me. I never understood the layout or the way it works. But marketing on Facebook does have a huge impact on getting a product out there. After reading this chapter, I'm starting to think I should become a little more familiar with Facebook. Especially with the career I plan on going into, I can market myself and find opportunities through this app. A large part of musical theatre is basically being your own business. You have to make yourself the product and market it, so directors want to get to know and cast you.
While my goal is to be able to market myself on Facebook, I can still use the tools and tips about marketing from the textbook. It is important to have a profile picture and cover photo, both of which are probably outdated though. I should probably go change them. Also, a call to action button is important. And once I have my website set up, I would put a link to that as my call to action button. A website for me would consist of headshots, a resume, videos of my different skills, and some background about me. Next is a description, and I would just write one to two sentences about me and my career. Having contact information is next. I would include a phone number, email and probably my website link again. The next piece of information to include is a location and hours. I don't really think I'd have anything to put for either of those. Then I would have to use the page settings to make sure my page is easily accessible, easy to use, and easy to understand. I could also become Meta Verified to help market myself as well.
Another tool I could use to manage my facebook page is Meta Business Suite. It would help me manage my page, view activity, view my inbox, create posts and ads and access even more tools to help me market myself. I will be starting to audition for summer stocks soon, and I will need some good tools like this to help me get out there.
