Home for the Weekend!
This weekend for fall break, I went home to visit my family. I live in Savannah, Georgia so I went pretty far to get home. I flew home Saturday morning and flew back Tuesday morning. My flight on Saturday morning was delayed though and my connecting flight had to be rebooked. So I got home later than I expected, but I'm just grateful I was able to get home. I almost cried when my parents picked me up from the airport. Plus I got to see my dog and my brother. Although, when I'm gone for a while, the first ten-ish minutes I'm back my dog won't even look me in the eye.
While I was home I hung out a lot with my mom. We went shopping and watched a lot of my favorite movies. Saturday night when I got back we watched Rock of Ages. Which is one of my favorites because it is also one of her favorites. It makes me so happy every time I watch it, especially with her. It is just such a fun story. Then we watched Barbie and the Twelve Dancing Princesses. That one is nostalgic for both of us as it was one of my favorite childhood movies. But we both ended up falling asleep halfway through. We woke up for the end though and were able to finish the movie.
The next day we went to the outlet mall and I got a couple things. I also went to Ulta and got some bronzing drops I've been wanting to try. Later that night my family and I went out for my dad's birthday. It was incredible to be able to celebrate at home with my family. I had the best food while I was home too. I had a smashburger the night we went out and my mom made two of my favorite pasta dishes while I was home as well. I also asked my dad to watch a Harry Potter movie with me. He is the one who introduced the books to me and I've really been wanting to watch some of the movies again with him. So, we ended up watching Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban.
Monday morning I went to the chiropractor because my back, neck and shoulders have been extremely tight recently. Later that day me and my mom went to a different mall and I got some more clothes. I needed more comfy winter clothes for the weather up here, and the shopping trip was very successful! I hung out some more with my family and my dog and ended the night watching one last movie with my mom.
My favorite movie of all time is Moulin Rouge. If you haven't watched it, go watch it because it is amazing. My love for this movie also comes from my mom. She is the one who showed it to me the first time, and I have been in love with it ever since. We sat on the couch and laughed and cried through the movies together. Then that morning I got dropped off at the airport again.
While my trip was short, the time I spent at home was some of the most fun I have had in a while. I really missed seeing my family and I am just so grateful that I was able to go home.
Im glad you were able to make it home for break! I was worried about you with all the weather things going on right now. My dog hates me too if that helps at all. It sounds like you have a good relationship with your mom. Thats great! Harry Potter was definitely the correct movie choice, by the way. And I also love Moulin Rouge! We need to talk more about books and movies because I think we have the same taste. Love you!
